Generation Y are the 4.5 million Australians born between 1980 and 1994 and they are young, self-confident and ambitious. Many generation Y-ers now find themselves as managers of other generations, that is, the managers of a multi-generational workforce. This may mean they are now managing peers (other Gen Y-ers), Generation X-ers and also baby boomers.
Generation Y brings different values and attitudes to the work place than those of the generations before it. Like all generations, however, these values and attitudes have both pros and cons. The challenges associated with the management of employees across generations can indeed be difficult. In such instances, a strategic approach to style is required.
This two-day instructor-led course is designed to assist in the development of leadership skills for Generation Y Managers so that they can effectively manage, support and inspire their team, establishing both rapport and respect between generations.
